This project has no special beginnings. It was December 2020. I was living at home. And I was very, very bored.
The world was feeling a bit of cabin fever during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I was no different. I’d just finished my fall semester of sophomore year and in the middle of winter break. The academic year began with me living in the basement of my parents’ house. My photography business, like most enterprises during that time, was in a severe slump. Without an absurd amout of schoolwork to do and nowhere to go, my creativity bug was itching to do something. Like a scene from a movie, I kept seeing flashes of a crown and mirror. I wasn’t sure what the final product would look like, but I grabbed my little sister and her blue wig from a Halloween costume she’d worn earlier in the year, then descended into the basement to set up shop.
